Essential Things Needed in a PG

What to Pack When Moving into a PG

Moving into a PG for the first time? It can feel exciting but also a little stressful. To make your move smooth and comfortable, you should pack the right things. Here’s a simple checklist of what to bring:

1. Important Documents: Carry your ID proof (Aadhar, PAN card, college ID or office ID), passport-sized photos, and copies of any agreement or PG booking receipt.

2. Bedding Essentials: Most PGs provide a bed, but it’s good to carry your own pillow, bedsheet, blanket, and mattress cover. It helps with hygiene and comfort.

3. Toiletries: Bring your own toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, towel, bucket, mug, and flip-flops for the bathroom. PGs may not provide these.

4. Daily Use Items: Pack clothes according to the season, undergarments, footwear, and laundry bag. Carry your charger, headphones, power bank, and other personal gadgets.

5. Cleaning Items: A small broom, dustpan, cloth for dusting, and liquid detergent will help keep your space tidy.

6. Kitchen Basics (if allowed): Some PGs allow light cooking. If yes, carry a small induction stove, electric kettle, or a rice cooker. Also bring a plate, spoon, cup, and water bottle.

7. Medicines: Carry basic medicines for fever, headache, stomach issues, and your regular prescribed medicines, if any.

8. Extra Storage: A foldable storage box or small rack can help you organize your items neatly in limited space.

Packing smartly helps avoid unnecessary stress after you shift. Don’t overpack, but don’t miss out on essentials either. Make a checklist and double-check before leaving your home. A well-packed bag makes your PG life much easier.
